The controversy between Mark Barroca and TV 5 reporter Erika Padilla was not a big issue. It all happened after the team of Mark Barroca, the SanMig Coffee mixers won the PBA title way back in 2012. Mark Barroca grabbed Erika Padilla but it was unintentional and there was no malice for Mark Barroca’s side and besides the adrenaline after winning the championship was still there. The funny side of the story is that the video that was uploaded via youtube went viral and reached international viewers. That’s why people thought that it was a huge controversy but in reality it wasn’t even an issue in the part of Mark Barroca and Erica Padilla.

Erica Padilla is a professional journalist and she is up to any task at hand and at the same time, she accepted her role during that dug out celebration and she has no worries about it. Mark Barroca also apologized to Erika Padilla about what happened and both parties did not have any complain for each other or what so ever. Meaning there is no issue or controversy that happened. It’s just that the video seemed to be a controversy because many people are talking about it especially those people in social networking websites.

As of this moment, Mark Barroca is the leading point guard of his team, the SanMig Coffee mixers. Even though the height of Barroca is just 5’10, he proves to have the biggest value in the team. Indeed small is terrible and that’s what Mark Barroca does to his team. I am a big fan of him and I hope that he will be having a great career in 2014. If his team will win the championship this conference then they will be back to back champions of the PBA. For sure there will be no issue or controversy during their next championship celebration. And by the way, Mark Barroca is already a married man and what appeared as a controversy in the video is just nothing but purely celebration of a championship. Of course, as a part of a winning team, you got to celebrate to the highest level and that issue was just misunderstood by a lot of people especially after it went international. Lots of people made a comment about it and some of them misjudge Mark Barroca but for now, that issue or controversy is already closed and is over.
